Mr. Daniel Davis

Band Director

Mr. Daniel Davis is currently the Director of Bands at Slidell High School located in Slidell, LA. He holds a Bachelors of Music Education degree from Louisiana State University and a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Tennessee Technological University. At Slidell High School, Davis's ensembles have received Superior marks at both marching competitions and concert assessment. Mr. Davis also sits on the Executive Board of the LMEA District IX Band Directors Association as the Treasurer. 


Prior to his tenure at Slidell High School, Mr. Davis served on the faculties at various academic institutions including Concernerstone University, Tennessee Technological University, and the University of the South. He has also taught at the secondary education level, serving as the Band Director at Dutchtown Middle School and as a Marching Technician at St. Amant High School, East Ascension High School, and Denham Springs High School. Mr. Davis has presented clinics, recitals, and masterclasses at institutions and schools domestically and internationally, including the prestigious Moscow Conservatory of Music. 


From 2017-2022, Mr. Davis toured with The King's Brass, a renowned brass ensemble known for delivering oer 150 annual concerts a year around the world. As a tuba player, he has recorded on the Summit Records label ("Christmas Joy - 733") and Mark Records label ("Santa Claus is BAW in Town - 54505-MCD"; "The Music of Leroy Osmon Vol. 6 - 54366 - MCD"; and "Charuhas - 55757 - MCD"). Additionally, he has performed with esteemed ensembles across the South, including the Bryan Symphony Orchestra, Meridian Symphony Orchestra, and the Brass Arts Quintet. 


Outside his educational endeavors, Mr. Davis enjoys unwinding with his feline companion, Jax, while playing video games or reading his favorite books.

Ms. Erica Reine

Assistant Band Director

Ms. Erica Reine serves as the Assistant Band Director at Slidell High School located in Slidell, Louisiana. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree and a Master of Music in Music Performance from Southeastern Louisiana University.


Ms. Reine is a multi-woodwind instrumentalist, specializing in the saxophone. Over the years, she has performed in various mediums, such as: Wind Symphonies, Orchestras, Saxophone Quartets, Solo Recitals, Group Recitals, Big Band Jazz Ensembles, Jazz Combos, and Mardi Gras Balls. She has also performed in the orchestra pit of many stage productions, including, but not limited to: Les Miserables, The Little Mermaid, Annie, 12th Night, Anything Goes, and Bye, Bye, Birdie. In 2018, she was a finalist in the Chamber Ensemble MTNA State Competition, where she played soprano saxophone in her saxophone quartet. In 2019, she performed with the Southeastern Louisiana University & Louisiana State University Saxophone Studios in the North American Saxophone Alliance (NASA) Region 6 Conference. Ms. Reine currently holds the principal chair in the saxophone section of the Covington Concert Band.


Prior to teaching at Slidell High School, Ms. Reine taught all levels of education. Her teaching career started in 2019 at Cypress Cove Elementary teaching general music. In 2022, she moved to an itinerant position where she served as the general music teacher and band director at Mayfield Elementary and Bayou Lacombe Middle. In 2024, she moved to Tchefuncte Middle to teach general music and direct their band program. Ms. Reine has also served as a Marching Technician and Woodwind Instructor for St. Amant High School, St. Paul’s High School, Covington High School, and Slidell High School. She has served as an adjudicator for the Sr. High St. Tammany Parish Honor Band auditions, Jr. High District 9 Honor Band auditions, LMEA All-State Honor Band 1st Round auditions, as well as many mock auditions for local middle, junior high and high schools. Ms. Reine’s teaching experience also covers private woodwind lessons, group woodwind lessons for local schools, masterclasses at the university level, and substitute teaching.


Outside of the classroom, Ms. Reine enjoys relaxing by playing video games, reading a good book series, or crafting her next DIY project. She also finds joy in being outdoors with her two Australian shepherds, Rae and Sabine.
